material investigation: concrete

This project was an exploration of the properties of concrete as a building material, as well as an experiment in casting. While concrete is quite brittle on its own, we found that using wire mesh, glass fibers, aggregates, and admixtures, concrete is exceptionally strong, and has the ability to take on virtually any shape and size. At the end of the project, all of the students modules were combined to erect a 5' concrete wall.
