Soho, located in London’s East End, is primarily known to be the heart of Britain’s sex industry, and is also known for its vibrant nightlife. At the same time, Soho is a residential community, with the Soho Parish School residing directly alongside the strip clubs and bars. The London Soho Community Library aims to sucessfully integrate the needs of the two populations, the adult and the child. As paradoxical as it may seem, the two populations occupy the same spaces without conflict. The result is a shared library that serves the community as a whole and maintains the diverse dynamic of the neighborhood, bringing seemingly contrasting populations together.
